Why Axfer
What we fix for drivers
The founding team dispatched and drove for other carriers for twenty years. These six things are what we swore we'd do differently.
Transparent miles & pay
Practical miles, paid on time, with a settlement sheet a human can read. Cross-border premium and detention pay from minute one past the free hour.
Home time that holds
Scheduled lanes mean predictable rotations. If dispatch commits you home Friday, you're home Friday — the load plan works around it, not the other way.
Equipment that's maintained
Late-model tractors serviced in our own garage. Write it up today, it's in a bay tonight — nobody drives a unit with a known defect.
Dispatch that picks up
24/7 dispatch staffed by people who've done the job. No load boards pretending to be dispatchers, no 45-minute hold music at a border.
Benefits from day 90
Health, dental and vision for you and your family, plus RRSP/401(k) matching after the first year. Safety bonus paid quarterly, not "annually, maybe."
A path off the road
Dispatchers, trainers and terminal managers are hired from the driver seat first. The career doesn't end when you want fewer miles.
Open roles
Now hiring
Apply with a resume — or just your license class and years of experience — to careers@axfer.com. A human replies within two business days.
How hiring works
Application to first dispatch
Apply & talk
Email your resume or just your experience. A recruiter — usually a former driver — calls within two business days for a straight conversation about lanes, pay and home time.
Road test & records
Road evaluation at the Mississauga yard, abstract and reference checks, and for cross-border roles we start your FAST card process on our dime.
Orientation & keys
Two paid days: equipment, border procedure, dispatch systems and the four rules on the wall. Then you're assigned a unit — yours, not a pool lottery.
Don't see your role?
We keep a short bench for good people. Tell us what you do — we'll tell you what we've got coming.
